September Birthdays

In September we celebrated 3 birthdays...Bear's, Kennedy's, and my younger brother Joey.

This year Bear turned the BIG 3-0 so it was appropriate to throw him a big surprise party.  Bear is a hard person to surprise because if he suspects anything, he starts asking me questions and I have a hard time convincing him that what he is thinking is wrong.  I start smiling and laughing when he asks me questions.

Bear's birthday is Sept 22 and Kennedy's birthday is Sept 19.  So I told him on the Saturday leading to his birthday that Elaine wanted to have a birthday party for Kennedy at our house and he was fine with that.  I told him we were going to do something for him the following week.  The day of his surprise party, I had no idea how to get him out of the house so I was getting the food ready and cleaning just going along that I was just getting ready for Kennedy's party.

There were 2 things that set it off for him and that is how he figured out...he didn't tell me till later.  He was a little frustrated that I was the only one getting ready for Kennedy's party and that my sister Elaine wasn't there helping out for her own daughter's party and then when our cousin randomally called him to go shooting around the time I needed him to help.  Oh well, all that matters is that I was able to pull it off right up until the day of  :)

Bear is the best husband and I am so grateful for all that he does for me and our family.  He is such a hard worker and never gives up on anything.  He can build anything, figure anything out, and is always willing to help when it is needed.

Here are some pics of the party guests.  Thanks to everyone that made it out to celebrate Bear!

And finally, we celebrated Kennedy's 2nd birthday!  She is such a special girl and we all love her tons!  She is such an independent girl.  She loves giving kisses and snuggling..which I LOVE!!

We love hanging out with the family and take any chance we get to spend time together.  Having birthdays so close together in family calls for LOTS of family time!

September 2011

In September 2011, we took a weekend trip to San Diego with my sister and niece.  It was a fun little get away and we went to Sea World.  It is Kennedy's birthday in September so my sister wanted to take her there for her birthday.  I love that little girl so much so I was more than willing to go wherever :)

Entering Sea World for the 1st time..

Kennedy was trying to get in the water with the dolphins..haha she is a determined little girl!

The animals were so cute..here is a seal just chilling in the water.

Here we are waiting for Shamu.  That was such a fun show to watch!  Those are some amazing animals!!

The weather was perfect that day.  We are waiting in line to enter the show.

This was the Sea Lion show.  This one was hilarious and those Sea Lion's are so dang cute!

The dolphin show was also another favorite!

Kennedy is always wanting to help and here she is helping Bear get ice from the machine.

She was tired of walking, so here was the perfect solution. She LOVED it!!

First time at the beach..figuring it out.

The beach was freeeeeeeeezing that day so we didn't stay long..bummer!

She was having so much fun with the sand...

The sand was ALL OVER her!!

Bear was showing Kennedy that burying your feet isn't as scary as she thought!

Here she is after being buried from Uncle Bear.

She is my favorite little girl!

Cute girl!!

Happy Birthday Kennedy!

July 2011

July was all about our younger sister Rebecca.  This was the month she got married.  She actually married my younger brother's best friend.  It's funny because a few years a go she did not like him at all and Erik was always picking on Rebecca {it's obviously because he liked her a lot}.

Becca was living with us for a few months and while living with us she started hanging out with Erik more and more.  We kept telling her she was going to start liking him but she didn't believe us.  Well what do you know, a month later she told me they were dating.  It was meant to be I guess haha.  We love Erik and we are so happy that he is part of our family.  We grew up with his family in our Stake at church and going to the same High School with him and his siblings.  He fits in great with the fam!

Trying on wedding dresses.  When we walked into David's Bridal and met with the lady who was going to work with Becca, it turned out to be the same lady who worked with me {7 years a go} in picking out my wedding dress!! Crazy!!

In the beginning of July we held the bridal shower for Becca.  These were the invitations I made for the bridal shower.  They were fun and and I loved the colors she picked. {Teal and Orange}

Bear and I during the reception.  Taking a needed break after all the running around..

Love them all!!

My younger sister...people are always asking if we are twins..I can kind of see it in this pic

Me and Becca.

This is the best part of the wedding:
The morning of the wedding, Becca calls me in tears and I start freaking out wondering what the heck is going on.  We were on our way to get our nails done {Becca, Elaine, and I} and Becca tells me that she totally forgot to get the marriage license!  It's Saturday morning and no gov't office is open so what does that mean, they can't get married!   There was talk of cancelling the wedding all together, but there was no way that was going to happen after all the work that has been put into it.  And not to mention, all the people we would of had to call to let them know.  So what did we do?.....We had a celebration!  They walked down the aisle still but they couldn't officially get married.  We still had the reception, which was fun for them!

So that night,  after the reception ended, Becca and Erik headed to Vegas and got married at a little Chapel down there.  Sure in the beginning it was stressful and we were freaking out a little but in the end, it is a funny story and something we can laugh at now.   It will also be a fun story for them to tell their children.

A Year?

Well, I can't believe I haven't posted anything in over a year! A lot has happened in that amount of time so I am going to post all the events by their month. Are you ready for post overload? :)
