Shy-ness

Iam sitting here at work BORED and was wondering what makes me such a shy person and why am I shy only around certain people? I looked up the word and this is what it gave me...

a. quiet and self-conscious

b. a feeling of insecurity

I know that Iam quiet and self-conscious and have insecurities but never did I think that it was makes me such a shy person. It really bothers me that Iam such a shy person around people. When I get around my family I am the loud one but when I get around my friends Iam the one that barely talks. I tend to care what people think about me and in the end I think that is what makes me this way. I worry about it to much so I just keep quiet when Iam around people. I just thought it was interesting! So I guess I am going to have to try and make some changes so Iam not the shy boring person at the fun get-togethers....
